Somerset House Ice Rink - 27 Nov - 25 Jan

Dominated by a 40ft high Christmas tree, the rink is a picturesque daytime and evening excursion for the whole family.

There are ice guides on hand for the inexperienced skaters during the day and at night aspiring Torvills and Deans can twist and twirl in fine style as flaming torches and special architectural lighting highlight the exquisite 18th-century facade around the courtyard.

When it all gets too much, you can warm yourself up with some mulled wine or other heart-warming refreshments at the Ice Rink Café and watch the action from the viewing area.
